My approach was a bit different from other startup that I have worked on while working on layzr. We used Hypothesis Driven Design to introduce new features to prove and disprove our assumptions.
So, we started our thinking process by reflecting on our own experience of collecting physical assets during our teen age.
During our teen age, most of us used to collect Pokemon cards, Tezos and NFL Cards. So I started to dive into the psychology of collecting trading cards, we started to ask oursevles what made us collecting those trading card. what was the psychology behind it. And we started to validating my assumptions by talking to our users, we used discord channel to talk with people who used to collected physical trading cards.
We have got some fun insights from our minimal research. For some collectors, the cards can evoke feelings of nostalgia and remind them of their childhood. Others may be motivated by the desire for social status or to achieve completion of a set. The limited availability of certain cards can make them more desirable to collectors, and the challenge of obtaining them can be rewarding. Some collectors view collecting Pokémon cards as an investment, with the potential for the cards to increase in value over time. And, for many, the process of collecting and trading Pokémon cards can be a fun and enjoyable hobby in and of itself, providing a source of enjoyment and social interaction.
